Where to Find the Best Laptops for College Students

The best laptops for college students are those that will fit the purpose and the pocket book of those in full time education. An ideal choice, most will agree, will be the latest Apple, an Apple Mac Book, Mack book Air or Mack book Pro. Yet lets, face it, these machines are costly and may not even be necessary for the first year student. Some thing like a Toshiba netbook could be much more suitable in the financial sense, and might be able to do everything that’s needed.

Yet there are, supposedly, free laptops for some lucky students. Check out the Internet for details. Yet don’t count on qualifying and even if some do, there may be conditions that can’t be met by every student. For the student who can barely manage the tuition and the books, what options are out there for them?

Check around for used laptops and netbooks that can usually be found at much more affordable prices but may not be as reliable. Ebay has all price ranges for sale and so does Amazon. A good used laptop may work just fine for a dedicated student, who is going to college to learn and not to show off their newest laptop with its latest game playing abilities. In fact, college students who are serious about their studies should leave their game machines at home. I have had that bit of wisdom from a very bright college student entering his second year.

Refurbished laptops may also be an excellent choice. In some cities, Goodwill Industries sell refurbished laptops. Check with them first and see what they have to offer. Whatever or wherever, a must for a college student is a laptop.

If cost is not a barrier and parents are agreeable, what are the best choices for laptops for college students? A good one can be bought at Best Buy for around $300 dollars. Laptop weight should be given appropriate consideration and if possible a lightweight laptop should be chosen. The laptop will be carried around a lot and a four of five pounder will be a handicap when running to and from classes. Yet, the heavier ones are more durable and a carrying case will make it easier to carry.
