A Quick Guide For Buying Laptop Computers

Mini laptops are great for portability and size, in fact laptops are becoming even more popular than desk top computers because they are much more versatile. They take up far less room in the home and allow you to stay in touch with your workload from anywhere in the world. Wireless technology means you can stay connected and send and receive emails and browse the internet. When choosing a new laptop you need to consider the weight and the size, as these are the two most important factors, along with the price of course.

If you intend using your laptop for general use when out and about then a 14 or 15 inch screen size is adequate. For home use you would be better with a larger screen, somewhere around 16 or 17 inches is the best choice. Just be aware that the larger the screen, the more the weight increases. For outdoor use the new thin film transistor screens are the best. These are LCD screens that stop sun glare and allow a much clearer view. Argos have many laptops with LCD screens, and very useful buyers guides to help you find the right model for your needs.

Another vital consideration is the battery life of the laptop. Battery technology has come a long way in a short space of time, and they perform much better these days. The average battery life is around 5 hours, but some of the very latest models offer more than this. If you are going to watch films then bear in mind that this will run the battery life down quicker than other applications.

The mini laptops and note books have smaller screens; usually around 9 to 10 inches and so they do struggle with heavy graphics. They are not ideal for gaming use. Hard drive space is also important, with some of the latest laptops having well over 500GB, and ports for external hard drives as well. External hard drives are not that expansive anymore, and argos online are selling them for peanuts at their store. The best advice is to try and buy the most advanced laptop you can afford because in 6 months time it will be out dated, as technology moves at such a fast pace.
