Affordable Laptops
Posted in General | 1 Comment »Let us face it; you just cannot get along in today’s world without a computer. Oh, sure you can go to the library and there are still some internet cafes that supply computers, but since nearly everyone has their own these days, that sort of business is foundering. Many places that used to charge for their wireless services are now offering it for free, so that means everyone who needs just occasional WiFi would do well to look into ways to find affordable laptops.
Is there such a thing as an affordable laptop? You would be surprised at the number of options. One of the best affordable laptop is available at Wal-Mart, which offers a brand new mini 10″ laptop by Acer for under $200 and for about fifty bucks more; you can get the same style made by that old standby electronics firm of Toshiba. The trick is that these little machines can go online with ease and speed but most do not accommodate DVDs or CDs. However, you can use SD cards or memory sticks to upload your favorite movies or tunes to your little computer. A great option to choose Wal-Mart as your laptop destination are the laptop financing plans they offer people–from credit cards to the Bill Me Later program–you have lots of options available.
Another serious option is eBay. It is best that you choose a highly-rated seller to lessen the chances of being ripped off, but most eBay purchases are protected and you do have recourse, especially if you use PayPal. Remember to read the seller’s conditions very carefully.
There are lots of companies that sell refurbished laptop computers or dented PC laptops and a simple internet search will reveal companies that “retire” their electronics. A good working laptop with word processing and a Windows operating system can be had for about $250 plus shipping.
Even Apple has outlets for its older laptops. Mac freaks should go to MacMall for amazing deals on refurbished affordable laptops and most come with at least a limited warranty.
As always, a little homework will save you a lot of cash. Happy hunting!

Good blog. I got a lot of effective info. I’ve been following this technology for awhile. It’s fascinating how it keeps changing, yet some of the core components remain the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their most recent acquisition in the area?
